I started by colouring the image with Polychromos, and cutting it out to fit inside the frame. I painted the frame with Fresco Finish paint in Sky, letting it dry completely. I added a coat of crackle glaze, and again let this dry, before adding a coat of Honey Dew Fresco Finish. I made some paper roses using a piece of 12" x 12" Tim Holtz paper, and cut some green leaves to tuck behind the flowers. I added some pearls to the centre of each flower.
The image is from Meljens Designs and the style is very cute, but quirky. This month, the site has a 50% sale, so why not pop over and take a look. I know I'm going back for another browse at the designs!
Thanks for stopping by, xx
This is a lovely little hanging and the birds are sweet - might just go and take a look to see what designs they have.
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness Judith, this is SO lovely! What a sweet idea! :-) (hugs)
ReplyDeleteI love the soft blues in this & the way you echoed the colour of the birds with those lovely rolled roses. The green leaves tucked behind the flowers tie in beatifully with the leaves in the image too.

A really pretty project Judith, I love the design which leaves plenty of space and shows the image and the gorgeous rolled flowers to great effect. Love the crackle finish and super colouring of the images. Elaine xxx
