Christmas Tags

Hi Folks, it's time for another challenge over at the Crafting with Dragonflies challenge blog. This time the theme is Christmas tags, so useful at this time of year. I always like to make my own gift tags to add that personal touch to my presents, so these tags will come in really useful.

I have chosen to use an image from one of our sponsors this week, QKR, called 'Santa's List', which I have coloured with pencils in vintage colours. I have embossed my tags with a music embossing folder, and then coloured the raised areas with Distress Inks. The finishing touch is some fab gingham ribbon.

Our Sponsors this week are QKR, who are offering the Winner 5 digis of their choice:

Sassy Studio Designs who are offering 4 digis of the Winner's choice:

So, why not head over to the challenge blog, and take a look at the inspiration offered by my Design Team mates, and enter into the competition yourself? It is the last challenge for this year, but we will be back next year with lots more challenges for you. So have a lovely Christmas from all of the Dragonflies, and keep crafting. Thanks for stopping by, xx

Secret Box

Hi Folks, it's time for another challenge over at the Crafting with Dragonflies challenge blog. This week the theme is to make a box. I have chosen to make a secret box, and I found my template here the website has a great tutorial jam packed with photographs.

I made my box using two sheets of kraft card, plus a little bit of spare that I had lurking in my stash of card oddments that I always save for these occasions. I covered the panels with some co-ordinating papers in blues and greens. I stamped some meadow flowers from a stamp set from Crafty Individuals, and used an image from our sponsor for the top of my box. I have added some ribbon, and a flat-backed gem to complete my box.

Our sponsors this week are QKR who are offering a prize of 5 digis of the winner's choice.

Sassy's are offering 4 digis of the Winner's choice:

A bit of Paper Piecing

Hi Folks, it's time for a new challenge over at the Artistic Inspirations challenge blog. I have used an image from our sponsors this week called 'Hug me Angel'. I printed the image several times onto patterned paper, and once onto plain white card. I coloured the face, hands and hair with Copics, and then cut the rest of the image from the various pieces of patterned paper.

I have added a flower and leaves cut from the Tim Holtz Tattered Florals and Tattered Leaves dies. My image had some faux stitching on it, so I've added that to the edge of my leaves, and as a border around the background paper.

Our sponsor this week is QKR and is offering 5 digis of the winner's choice as a prize.

Why not enter the challenge? You can make whatever you like, just follow this week's theme of Paper Piecing/Paper Piercing.

I am entering my card into the following challenges:

Fancy Folds/Anything Goes

Hi Folks, I'm back with a projects for the Artistic Inspirations Challenge Blog and the theme this week is Fancy Folds/Anything Goes.

I am using an image from our sponsor this week QKR, called 'Birdhouse and Vines'. I wanted to make something other than a card, as I have several projects that I need to make to give to other people. I decided to make an envelope book using kraft envelopes, and some matching kraft card. The book involves a fair bit of scoring and folding, so I'm happy that it qualfies for this week's challenge title.

I have used some pretty scrapbook papers from my stash that I have had for ages, in a blue a yellow theme. This is not my usual colour palette, but it was a refreshing change to work with these colours.

I have lined each page with various different designs, and the pockets created by the envelopes will hold tags or other small items. Because the book is quite small, I was able to use small offcuts of card that I keep for such projects.

I have added a wooden embellishment to my tag, which I lightly dry brushed with cream acrylic paint to tone in with the rest of the colours I have used.

I hope that you will pop along to the blog to see what my Team mates have been making this week, and why not enter the challenge? You can make whatever you like, a card, tag, altered box, mixed media piece, etc.

I am entering my project into the following challenges:

Gingerloft Ribbons and Bows

One Stitch at a Time use a digi

Robyn's Fetish Use Ribbon or Twine

Inspire me Fridays Anything Goes

Add a bit of Sparkle/Anything Goes

Hi folks, I'm here with a project for the Artistic Inspirations Challenge Blog and the theme this week is Add a Bit of Sparkle/ Anything Goes. I have used an image from QKR called 'Girlfriends' which I have cut out using a wonky square Nestability shape. I then coloured the image with Polychromos pencils.

I have made an easel card, and used Crafty Individuals backing paper in soft pastel shades for the background. I used the paper as my inspiration when colouring the image. There are so many colours in the paper, I couldn't go wrong! The sentiment is from Chocolate Baroque.

I added some glittery ribbon and some flat-backed gems for a bit of sparkle to finish.

I don't normally do cute cards, but this will make a great storecupboard card for when I need a card in a hurry. I think the image would put a smile on anyone's face.

This week there are some great prizes over at the challenge blog:

QKR are offering 5 digis of the winner's choice

You can make a card, a tag, an altered box, a mixed media piece, whatever you like. So why not have a go, and join in the challenge? Please pop over and see what my Team mates have been up to.
