CAS Christmas Card

Hello everyone, I have a CAS Christmas card to show you today, using the lovely new Christmas stamps from Chocolate Baroque. I love to mix and match old stamps with new, and this project is no exception. I have created a clean and simple card that will be great for making up in batches when you need to make lots of cards in a hurry, always handy when you have so many cards to make.

I started my card by stamping the pine cone sprig three times across the top of a 7" x 7" white card blank. I coloured the stamp with Distress Markers so that I could get the variety of colours on the stamp. I used two tones of brown on the pine cones for extra shading. I added a greeting from the Bold Christmas Words stamp set at the bottom of the card, also using Distress Markers. Finally, I stamped and embossed a bauble from the Christmas Decorations stamp set onto scrapbook paper three times using a Rudolph's Red Nose sparkly red Wow embossing powder. I cut these out and used 3D foam pads to attach them to the card. You always need a bit of sparkle at Christmas!

Christmas Masterboard

Hello everyone, I have a project to show you today using the current stamps of the month available from Chocolate Baroque. I have used one of the leafy Seasonal Fragment designs to create a masterboard with contemporary colours, and then turned it into a Christmas card by using a seasonal greeting and poinsettia style flowers.

I started my background by colouring a piece of smooth white card with Aqua Adirondack Ink, then stamping the leaves using Red Geranium and Library Green Archival Ink. I completed the background using the same leafy stamp and Aqua Ink for a softer feel.

I die cut a long shape, and sponged the edges with Aqua, leaving the die in place, to create a white border, then stamped a sentiment, using Versafine Crimson Red Ink. I hand cut a matting layer using dark red card. I used the same red card to cut out some Crealie shapes to make some flowers, and cut some Crealie leaves using dark green card. I spritzed the flowers with water and scrunched them up slightly to get a more dimensional feel. I put three layers together and added a brad.

Christmas Circles

Hello Folks, I have some cards on circular theme for you today, using the stamps of the month from Chocolate Baroque

For my first sample, I created a background using gelatos in shades of green and purple, which I added to a wet background and blended with my fingers. I dried the background then added a circle mask in the centre. I stamped an image from the Harlequin Fragments stamp set around the edge of the mask, using Pear Tart Memento Ink. I sponged a little bit of ink around of the mask to add some shading, before removing the mask. I stamped and embossed the holly and bell images from the Holly Bells stamp plate using gold embossing powder. I also stamped another set of  images onto a spare piece of card. I coloured the spare images with Distress markers and a water brush  and decoupaged them onto the background. I added some hand drawn 'string'. The sentiment is from the Christmas Magic stamp plate.

I have a couple of CAS cards that I would also like to show you. In these days of rising postage costs, flat cards are always useful to make, and these two cards would make good batch cards, that you could make in lots of different colour options as well. The first card was made using blue, lilac and grey Distress Inks, and I simply created a reverse mask, sponging coloured ink through a circle aperture onto my card. I coloured the top and bottom circles first, and overlapped the middle one last. I then selected three baubles, taken from the Santa Baby/Holly Bells Multi-Buy stamp set, and stamped them in the same inks that I used to create the circles, giving a tone on tone effect. The sentiment was taken from the Christmas Sentiments Multibuy

The last card was made in much the same way, except that I created a single circle, blending Dandelion and Pear Tart Memento Inks, and chose Orange Blossom Archival Ink to stamp the bells, giving a stronger contrast. The sentiment comes from the Bold Christmas Words stamp set.

Christmas Greetings!

Hi Folks, there are new stamps over at Chocolate Baroque today. There are two sets of Halloween stamps, and some fabulous new clear Christmas greetings to use on your Christmas cards.

I have a Christmas card to show you today, using one of the greetings and my favourite feisty angel fron the Gothic Angels stamp set. I have used Pan Pastels to create the background, including one of the the new metallic Pan Pastel in a scrumptious coppery colour.

The greetings are large enough to be used as features on a card in their own right, and come in a great selection of fonts. Look out for these creeping into our samples over the coming weeks, as they are really fabulous.
