Forgotten Friday 24- A Touch of Venice

Hi folks, it's Friday again, this week has flown by! My Daughter is safely back in the UK, but her ankle is in plaster for the next five weeks at least. She has a lovely purple plaster cast- a girl after my own heart! We have been backwards and forwards to the Hospital a lot this week, and need to go again next week for another x-ray. Hopefully then she can settle down a bit, and concentrate on letting the ankle heal. I'm off to pick a wheelchair up for her tomorrow, as she can't walk on it for several weeks. Who would have thought a trip to Disneyland could be so dangerous?

Anyway, onto my project for this week. I have chosen to use a background stamp from Hero Arts, 'Italian Poetry Background', as the starting point for my card. I am very fond of Italy, as those of you who know me will know. I coloured my card with Versamagic chalk inks, that were already laying on my craft desk. I used a lovely mask from Tattered Angels down the left hand side. I then added an as yet unused stamp from Stamp Camp of a scene from Venice. The chalk inks give a very dreamy, watery quality to the picture. The final touch was to add a lovely flourish from Chocolate Baroque in the corner, almost like a watermark.

Don't forget to have a rummage through your stash, to see what you have that is forgotten or neglected. Make something with it, and add a link in my comments. I'll pop along to your blog to take a look. Thanks for stopping by today, Judith xx

Fancy neglecting such a beautiful stamp! Your colours are just perfect for it. If I'm really honest I don't think the mask adds much to the design. I think I would have preferred another 'watermark' in the top left corner, but that's just me.
The whole effect is lovely. Kate x

That card is beautiful - very subtle in effect and colouring but so effective.
I hope your daughter continues to improve which I'm sure she will your some TLC from you - hope she managed to enjoy some of Disneyland before it happened.  Hope you like my FF card this week - it's here

Sorry a typo seems to have crept into my last post - 'your' should be 'with'. Fingers not awake yet!!

A beautiful card Judith. Lovely soft colouring that suits this image perfectly. So glad that your daughter is improving, and now she has Mum to care for her, I'm sure her recovery will be quick. Here is my contribution this week.

I think this is stunning my friend. Those chalk inks are gorgeous (finally got round to ordering some from CB last night - bit of retail therapy!). That's a really beautiful image and although I've never been this card certainly conjures up a lovely atmosphere.

Judith, the shading on this card is stunning, such perfect colours to creat a real atmsophere and the subtle stamping is brilliant.

I hope you got the wheelchair sorted OK and all is well at chez vous!

Thank goodness it's the weekend!
