Daisies and Butterflies

Hi Folks, it's time for another challenge over at Crafting with Dragonflies This week the challenge is to make a card with an unusual fold. I have made a triangle trifold card, using an image from one of our sponsors, Delicious Doodles.

I found a tutorial for my card here and there are lots of other great ideas to be found on the blog. I used two square cards taped together to make my card, it was really quick. I then measured the card, and made my coloured card and backing paper half a centimetre smaller each time, as per the instructions.

I coloured my image with Polychromos,  and added some cream seam binding ribbon to close the card.

I added a lovely sentiment from Chocolate Baroque inside the card:

One for the Girls

Hi Folks, it's time for another challenge over at the Crafting with Dragonflies challenge blog. This time the challenge is to make a Girly card. I have chosen to use an image from our sponsor called 'Fairy Fae'. I'm very fond of fairies and butterflies, so I quite enjoyed working with this image. I opted to colour my image with Copics this time, instead of my pencils, and chose a palette of soft blues and greens. I've used a background paper from a Tim Holtz paper stack, which seemed to tie in quite well. I made some handmade flowers and added a blingy swirl, which I made up myself using flat-backed gems from my stash. I die cut some butterflies and added some glitter glue for more sparkle.

Our sponsors this week are:

Delicious Doodles who are offering the winner 4 digis of their choice

A Day for Daisies who are offering the Winner $12 Gift Certificate for the shop

So why not enter the challenge and make a girly card? Hop over to the challenge blog and take a look at what my DT team mates have made this week for your inspiration.

Happy Valentine's Day!

Hi Folks, I have a project to share with you today that I have made for a new challenge blog which is starting today. I am lucky enough to have been chosen to be on the Design Team. The blog is Sincerely Yours Creations
and they are a fortnightly challenge blog with a Facebook page as well. They have some great sponsors providing fabulous prizes so it is really worth entering the challenges to grab a chance of winning something.
The theme for this fortnight's challenge is Valentine/Love, and my card reflects that with my own take on the subject. I have used an image from our sponsor Delicious Doodles called 'Rosalee', and coloured her with Polychromos pencils. I then set her on a Nestie shape inked and stamped with a large crackle stamp. My backing paper is a digital download from Pink Petticoat called 'French Script' and comes in a huge variety of colours, but I went for a simple cream and dark brown in this instance. I stamped and embossed a couple of ornate corners from Inkylicious on the background, and an Eiffel Tower image from Waltzing Mouse stamps. (The sentiment is from the same stamp plate). I coloured some handmade paper using Distress re-inkers using two colours to get the shade that I wanted, then made some rolled roses. The die cut swirl is from Die-namics.

The rest of the Design Team have been busy making some fabulous samples, so please hop over and take a look. Why not enter the challenge and see if you can win a prize? You can make whatever you like using any medium, and we would love to see what you come up with.

I am entering my card into the following challenges:

Vintage Elusions challenge-Wings

Hi Folks, well I'm back from my travels again very temporarily, and I'd just like to show you what I made for the challenge this week over on the Vintage Elusions Challenge Blog The theme this week is 'Wings/Anything Goes, so if you don't fancy making anything with a wings related theme, you can make whatever you like! You can make a card, tag, altered item, a mixed media project, whatever you like to make, can be entered into the challenge. Please pop along to the blog to see what my Design Team mates have made this week to inspire you. My own project is a little late going on to the blog, as I have only just arrived back home, and I couldn't upload it to the blog, but it's going on there shortly.

I have made a card this week, using an image from Delicious Doodles. It is a floral frame, which I have coloured with Polychromos pencils. I have used some fabulous backing papers from Prima, which I have layered after distressing the edges and colouring them with Tea Dye Distress Ink. I have also stamped a lovely Hummingbird image from Designs by Ryn, also coloured with Polychromos. The sentiment is one from Stamp Camp, which I bought on my recent visit to Happy Stampers.

I simply used a piece of the left over backing paper to stamp the sentiment. It's a lovely pale green with script stamped randomly all over. The main backing paper is taken from the new 'Firefly' collection. Those papers are gorgeous, and I can see myself using every single one of them.

As usual there are some great prizes on offer on the challenge blog:
Teri is offering the Winner 4 digi images of their choice
Susan is offering the Winner 5 Digi images of their choice
Keilly is offering a £10 voucher to spend in the shop
