Hi folks, do you remember that old joke from when you were little? A sunburnt penguin, we all used to chorus. It's also what my next sample for Chocolate Baroque looks like as well. I wanted to create a black and white theme, with splashes of red for the poppies. I used a large background stamp from the Dusky Damask themeplate, and stamped it in two opposing corners of a piece of white card. I edged the card with some red Distress Ink. I stamped and embossed the poppy image onto a slim oval of white card, and painted it with Distress Stains.
I made a flower from crinoline, and sprayed this with Distress re-inker and water, scrunching the petals, and heat setting them with a heat gun. I added a large black button in the centre. Some black satin ribbon completes the card.
These new stamps are such a treat to work with. The Design Team have made some fabulous samples. Keep popping over to the blog to see what they have made. Thanks for stopping by, xx

Another gorgeous creation using your favourite poppies. We always used to give the answer 'a newspaper' to the old question!!

Another amazing creation, loving the poppy :)
Gorgeous & elegant Judith. That poppy set is on my wish list :) Cheers, Shirleyx
Your soft shading of those poppy leaves in grey is so atmospheric - reflecting that feathery silvery green they have in real life & I love that narrow oval which is a perfect foil for the tall image. The crinoline flower really makes the brain associate it with the fluffy frilly edges one often sees in the larger poppies. I particularly like the way you've used the background stamp as a panel on the large card - making me think a bit about design.

Gorgeous card, just loving the poppies too, fabulous colors xx
Judith this is a gorgeous card. The use of the large stamp in the background, especially by inverting the image is great. I love the grey poppy, it's a great touch, as is the crinoline flower. Beautiful colouring as always. A really smashing card. Elaine xxx
