Hi Folks, it's time for another challenge over on the Crafting with dragonflies challenge blog. The theme this fortnight is to create a mini album. It can be in any format that you like, and I chose to make a mini envelope album. I found lots of inspiration on Pinterest, and the particular album that I used, I found here
My album is very small, but I had great fun making it, and have decorated all of the tags using a dragonfly theme. I chose two images from one of our sponsors this week, called large dragonfly, and small dragonfly, which were the starting point for my project. I made a background on a piece of watercolour paper using the wrinkle free distress method, and once this was dry, I printed the two dragonflies onto the paper, and cut them out, using the size of the card as my guide. I then cut six more cards from the remaining paper and decorated them with some more stamps. I have tangled one of the dragonflies, and added some tangled flowers to another one of the cards. All of the images have been coloured with Inktense pencils and a waterbrush.
The book was made by covering pieces of chipboard with scrapbook paper, and inking and sanding the edges. The envelopes were covered with recycled dictionary paper, and also inked.
Here is the album open with the little cards inserted:
Here are all of the cards, plus the album sitting on a piece of 12" x 12" scrapbook paper, so you can see how small it really is:
I would be happy to give my little album away at the end of the fortnight to anyone that would like it. So, if you are interested, please let me know in your comment. If there is more than one person interested, I will do a random draw for the winner.
Our sponsors this week are Eureka Stamps who are offering 5 digis of the winner's choice:
Di's Digi Designs who are offering a $10 gift certificate:
So get your thinking caps on and have a go at making a mini album or book and enter our challenge. Pop over to the challenge blog to see what the rest of the DT have made for your inspiration.
I am entering my album into the following challenges:

Vintage Christening Card
Hi Folks, it's time for another challenge over at the Crafting with Dragonflies challenge blog. This time the theme is vintage with lace. I have used a beautiful image from one of our sponsors this week 'A Day for Daisies', they have some lovely images for all occasions, but I do love their fairies.
I cut my image out using a decorative Nestie shape, and inked around the edges, with the die still in place, so that the edging looks like lace. I've coloured the image with my trusty Polychromos pencils, using the cream pencil as a blender, to give everything a very vintage tone. I love the look that this gives. I created a computer generated sentiment, and gave the shape the same treatment as the main image. I used Scattered Straw Distress Ink to colour the edges. I added some toning buttons and some pretty turquoise lace to finish my card.
The rest of the DT have made some beautiful cards for your inspiration, so please hop over to the blog to take a look.

Flowers and Lace
Hi Folks, it's time for another challenge over at the Artistic Inspirations Challenge blog. The theme for this week is Flowers and Lace, so why don't you have a rummage through your stash and have a go at making a project for the challenge?
I have used an image from our sponsor this week, Eureka Stamps called Garden Square. I must have been in a cheery mood when I created this card, as I have gone for very bright colours! I have coloured the digital image with my Polychromos pencils, and then used a lovely backing paper from the DCWV Mariposa stack. This is a beautiful selection of papers that I am shamefully hoarding, so it's about time I started to use them. I have used a pretty piece of ribbon, some flowers and glittery domes from my stash along with a piece of lace to tie in with this week's theme.
Eureka stamps are offering 5 digis of the winner's choice.
Please hop over to the blog to see what my team mates have made, and have a go at making something for the challenge. It can be anything that you like, a card, tag, box, altered item, mixed media project, etc, as long as you incorporate Flowers and Lace.
I am entering my card into the following challenges:
Challenges for Everybody Anything Goes
Pink Gem Challenge Blog Things with Wings
Crafty Calendar Challenge Blooms and Blossoms
Left of Center Challenges Use a Digi Image

New Challenge Blog Finally Begins!
Hi Folks, well the day has finally arrived, and the new challenge blog Crafting with Dragonflies launches today. Based in Australia, but with an international Design Team, this friendly challenge blog is run by a lovely lady called Hilde. I count myself very lucky to be on the Design Team, and have a card to show you today. I am using a freebie provided by Hilde herself, and you can get this lovely design by hopping over to the challenge blog.
I coloured a piece of watercolour paper with Distress Inks, using the wrinkle free distress method before printing the digital image onto the background. I also printed the image again onto a spare piece of watercolour paper. I coloured both images with pencils, and then stuck the second image over the first with the wings sticking up slightly.
I stamped over the background with a fabulous texture stamp from Chocolate Baroque to add to the watery feel of the background. I chose a co-ordinating piece of background paper from the Prima Firefly range. I have used a Jo Capper-Sandon dragonfly sentiment, which I love. My flowers and leaves are Crealie dies.
Please hop over to the challenge blog and take a look around. You can see what my lovely Design Team mates have been making. There are links to our Facebook page, and you can follow us on Twitter as well. We would love to see you, and would really appreciate your support.
There are lots of prizes for our first fortnightly challenge, so it is well worth entering a card with a dragonfly image.
First prize is a Magnolia Tilda stamp plus
Eureka Stamps 5 digis of the winner's choice
Sassy Studio Designs 4 digis of the winner's choice
Crafts and Me: 3 digi stamps
Emerald Fairy: 2 digi stamps
Thanks for stopping by, xx

A Tail of two Pussycats
**Edited Post: The Sincerely Yours Creations Blog has been removed. It is a shame for those of you who have entered the challenges and the sponsors who have been kind enough to support the blog. I have no further information at this time. **
Hi Folks, it's time for another challenge over at the Sincerely Yours Creations Challenge Blog. This time, the theme is 'Cats and Dogs'. Being a cat lover, I opted for a fabulous cat image called 'Snoozing Kitty on the Edge', which reminded me of my grey kitten Cody. He has huge paws, just like this image, and likes to sleep a lot. However, I couldn't make a card without adding in my other kitten Poppy, so I found an image that looks just like her! She is always full of beans, and darting about all over the place, and this image is just perfect.
I coloured a piece of watercolour paper cut to size using the wrinkle free Distress method, then once it was completely dry, I printed the black cat onto the paper, using a custom setting on my printer to specify the paper size. I practised on a scrap piece of paper first! I then stamped the wall across the background underneath the image, and coloured it in with pencils. This is a clear edge stamp from Chocolate Baroque. I masked the wall and stamped a CB tree so that it appears to be behind the wall, and added some little sequin flowers, dropping some Stickles in the centre of each flower. I stamped some flowers and added more sequin flowers underneath the wall.
I coloured the sleeping cat and cut him out before adding him to the picture. I stamped a couple of Lavinia dragonflies around the tree, and added a great CB sentiment to finish.
Tina is offering 5 digis of the Winners choice. So why not enter the challenge? Pop over to the blog to see what my Team mates have been making and have a go at making something yourself.
I am entering my card into the following challenges:
Through the CRaft Room Door Anything Goes
Make it Monday Anything Goes
Glitter and Sparkle Animals
Just before I go, here are a couple of photos of the real thing:
