Christmas Tags

Hi Folks, it's time for another challenge over at the Crafting with Dragonflies challenge blog. This time the theme is Christmas tags, so useful at this time of year. I always like to make my own gift tags to add that personal touch to my presents, so these tags will come in really useful.

I have chosen to use an image from one of our sponsors this week, QKR, called 'Santa's List', which I have coloured with pencils in vintage colours. I have embossed my tags with a music embossing folder, and then coloured the raised areas with Distress Inks. The finishing touch is some fab gingham ribbon.

Our Sponsors this week are QKR, who are offering the Winner 5 digis of their choice:

Sassy Studio Designs who are offering 4 digis of the Winner's choice:

So, why not head over to the challenge blog, and take a look at the inspiration offered by my Design Team mates, and enter into the competition yourself? It is the last challenge for this year, but we will be back next year with lots more challenges for you. So have a lovely Christmas from all of the Dragonflies, and keep crafting. Thanks for stopping by, xx

New Challenge Blog Finally Begins!

Hi Folks, well the day has finally arrived, and the new challenge blog Crafting with Dragonflies launches today. Based in Australia, but with an international Design Team, this friendly challenge blog is run by a lovely lady called Hilde. I count myself very lucky to be on the Design Team, and have a card to show you today. I am using a freebie provided by Hilde herself, and you can get this lovely design by hopping over to the challenge blog.

I coloured a piece of watercolour paper with Distress Inks, using the wrinkle free distress method before printing the digital image onto the background. I also printed the image again onto a spare piece of watercolour paper. I coloured both images with pencils, and then stuck the second image over the first with the wings sticking up slightly.

I stamped over the background with a fabulous texture stamp from Chocolate Baroque to add to the watery feel of the background. I chose a co-ordinating piece of background paper from the Prima Firefly range. I have used a Jo Capper-Sandon dragonfly sentiment, which I love. My flowers and leaves are Crealie dies.

Please hop over to the challenge blog and take a look around. You can see what my lovely Design Team mates have been making. There are links to our Facebook page, and you can follow us on Twitter as well. We would love to see you, and would really appreciate your support.

There are lots of prizes for our first fortnightly challenge, so it is well worth entering a card with a dragonfly image.

First prize is a Magnolia Tilda stamp plus

Eureka Stamps 5 digis of the winner's choice

Sassy Studio Designs 4 digis of the winner's choice

Crafts and Me: 3 digi stamps

Emerald Fairy: 2 digi stamps

Thanks for stopping by, xx

Lots of Layers

Hi Folks it's time for another challenge over at the Artististic Inspirations challenge blog, and this week the theme is 'Lots of Layers'.

I have used an image from our sponsor Sassy Studios called 'Elizabeth Bennet'. I coloured the image using my Polychromos pencils, and cut the image out using a Nestie shape. I coloured the edges with Distress Inks, and really like the lacy effect that this gives this die. I have added some torn script paper in keeping with the literary theme of my character, and some scrumptious PaperArtsy paper. I rummaged through my stash for some lace, a toning purple flower, a brad and a die cut leaf to finish the card. My last layer is some white card as the base layer.

Pride and Prejudice was always my favourite Jane Austen novel, but I enjoy watching the movie as well. Who doesn't like to see Elizabeth and Mr Darcy agonise their way though the fim to the ultimate happy ending? Mr Darcy in a damp shirt isn't too bad either ;)

Our sponsor this week is offering 4 digis of the winner's choice:

So please hop along to the challenge blog, and take a look at what my team mates have made, and have a go at making something for the challenge yourself. It can be any kind of project you like, a card, tag, box, altered item. etc.

I am entering my card into the following challenges:

Totally Papercrafts Flowers and Lace

Sisterhood of Crafters Anything Goes

Divas by Design Inspired by a Movie
